Here is what New Belgium had to say about it: Artisan maltster River Bend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina, kiln a perfect rye. And when you pair gobs of their spicy rye with heaps of spicy hops you get a great Hop Kitchen Beer. This unique, and collaborative, Rye IPA boasts a bold blend of Simcoe, Galaxy, Cascade, and Mosaic hops to bring a thunderous 75 IBU. Have a sip and feel the bang.

My Brewreview and Notes:
Aroma: Spicy! extreme citrus punch; sweet kiwi/melon, orange, pineapple, lemon; lots going on 11/12
Appearance: light copper, clear as day, medium H head retention, soft foamy cream head, 3/3
Flavor: big hop bitterness and spciy throughout; bits of caramel/toffee malt notes, finishes bitter that lingers a little bit, 13/20
Mouthfeel: pretty thick, with prickly carbonation. mouth coating bitterness that lingers through multiple sips; must be because your tongue numbs out! 3/5
Overall: A very delicious Rye IPA! I love the spicyness from rye malt, and this beer does not disapoint in that arena. The aroma is fanastic, but the hop flavor is a little lacking as I am overwhelmed by the bitterness from the first sip on.
Dustin gives New Belgium’s RyePA, a 40/50
